For the mid-engined cars the risk is different: they are too recognisable to drive far, so they get loaded. An ignition-triggered alert never fires. Motion sensing with independent power does. There is also a straightforward exposure that has nothing to do with electronics - these cars attract attention, are filmed constantly, and their movements are easy to predict, which is worth thinking about separately from what we fit.
The Urus is a modern CAN-bus vehicle and takes a Ghost II or an S5 Deadlock without complication. On a Huracán or Aventador the constraint is space and access - there is very little room behind the trim, carbon panels are not to be flexed, and the routing paths are few. We plan the position before we start rather than improvising, and we accept that it is a slower job than an SUV. Everything is reversible, and nothing is cut or spliced.
