The Thames comes over the wall at Water Lane and along the towpath on a high spring tide, several times a year, and we will not park a van in it. If you are on the riverside we check the tide table and pick a slot around it. Richmond Park's gate closures and the summer traffic on the A307 affect our arrival more than the work, but they are why we give a window rather than a fixed time.
